Thalassophobia; the fear of deep water.

What is it about the depths of the ocean that make it so innately terrifying? It could simply be the fear of drowning, pop-culture’s constant reminder that apex predators lurk just below the surface, or perhaps something more primal within us whispering to stick to the shoreline. Whatever the reason for our fear, I created this series of illustrations for a hypothetical issue of Psychology Today focused on phobias. My work was made using mostly Procreate, with some assistance from Adobe InDesign when it came time to create the type for the center spread.
